RIAC standard hours of operations are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST. The hourly pay for this position is set at $19.50.
Incoming Production Support is responsible for receiving tens of thousands of firearms, bladed weaponry, and military and historical collectibles each year for consignment. This vital role safely unpacks and moves consignment items, verifies and books into database, and most importantly, ensures firearms are not loaded.

Essential Job Functions:
- Check in and process incoming inventory, including antique firearms, edged and bladed weaponry, and military memorabilia, using the highest level of safety and respectfulness possible, and include physically handling inventory and entering additions into system database.
- Tag incoming inventory with high attention to detail, verifying each firearm is unloaded and ensuring all information provided by customers is verified.
- Complete forms and logs with accuracy and documents findings consistent with directed guidelines established by internal processes and procedures as well as customer instructions.
- Organize and move inventory throughout department as well as out of department, as needed.
Qualified candidates meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required;
- Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
- Hands-on experience working with and organizing inventory highly preferred;
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to obtain and maintain active FOID card status (Illinois residents only); and
- Ability to work six (6) auction weekends per year.
Physical Requirements
Routinely moving and transporting up to 50 pounds. Traversing and moving for prolonged periods up to 100% of the time with frequent ascending, descending, or positioning self to maintain moving and transporting consignor items. Must be able to constantly communicate and exchange accurate information. Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, perceive and assess incoming production operations. Constantly operates and uses computer and other relevant equipment and office machinery. Constantly works with and around firearms, bladed weaponry, militaria, historic relics, and valuable collectibles.
