Firearms Auction Support Concessions – Temporary
Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC), the #1 firearms auction house in the world is expanding to Texas and searching for temporary Auction Concessions Support. In a new state-of-the-art facility, this temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to help pioneer efforts for RIAC premier auctions in Bedford, Texas! This temporary, part-time position assists with serving food and beverages to customers, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, customer service, and handling auction items with the utmost care, caution, consideration, and respect. Advanced auction duties may be assigned upon successful training completion.

RIAC holds premier auctions at least three (3) times each year and live auctions at least six (6) times each year. Working premier auctions requires availability 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday through Sunday.
What does a typical workday for premier auction look like?
Temporary Auction Support can expect the following:
- Acts as company ambassador while professionally interacting and communicating with clients.
- Performs general auction duties such as security (i.e., remaining present at assigned station in preview hall) and customer service (i.e., interacting with clients, serving food and beverage).
- Assists with handling, adjusting, and moving firearms, large props, display racks, and display cases.
- Performs routine cleaning such as removing smudges from display case glass, sweeping, disposing of trash, and other general duties.
- Performs advanced auction duties upon successful completion of training (i.e., phone bidding).
- Works during auction weekends (at least 3 premier auctions and up to 6 live auctions per year).
- Completes other tasks, duties, and projects as assigned.

Qualified candidates meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
Physical Requirements
Routinely moving and transporting up to 50 pounds. Traversing and moving for prolonged periods up to 100% of the time with frequent ascending, descending, or positioning self to maintain moving and transporting consignor items. Must be able to constantly communicate and exchange accurate information. Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, perceive and assess auction operations. Infrequently operates and uses computer and other relevant equipment and office machinery. Constantly works in climate-controlled environment. Constantly works with and around firearms, bladed weaponry, and valuable collectibles.
