In a new state-of-the-art facility, this full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to help pioneer operational efforts for RIAC premier auctions in Bedford, Texas!
A strong working knowledge of firearms and a firm commitment to firearms safety are essential for success in this role. Candidates must be comfortable handling, identifying, and working around a wide range of firearms in a professional and secure environment.

RIAC standard hours of operations are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST with overtime and weekend hours, as needed.
Auction Production Support is responsible for receiving tens of thousands of firearms, bladed weaponry, and military and historic relics each year for consignment. This vital role safely unpacks and moves consignment items, verifies and books into database, assists with the setup of auctions, and, most importantly, ensures all firearms are unloaded.

What does a typical day look like?
Auction Product Support can expect the following:
- Moves and handles inventory items, including antique firearms, edged and bladed weaponry, and military memorabilia, using the highest level of safety and respectfulness possible.
- Organizes and moves inventory throughout department as well as out of department, as needed.
- Numbers inventory item lots and sets auction in proper order.
- Completes logs and documentation timely and in accordance with directed guidelines established by internal processes and procedures, ATF regulations, and all other applicable regulations.
- Serves as backup for Online Production Assistant(s), which requires operating photo stations to produce quality photographs for firearms and non-firearm items.
- Prioritizes regulatory compliance and demonstrates integrity.
- Uses computer occasionally to complete production tasks.
- Cleans inventory, as necessary.
- Works expected overtime and required auction weekends (approximately 6 per year).
- Demonstrates reliability, commitment, and effective collaboration in order to successfully achieve assigned tasks and goals.
- Completes other duties, as assigned.

Qualified candidates meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required;
- Prior relevant work experience with production, warehouse, supply chain management, inventory, material handling, or other related field highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license;
- Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
- Hands-on experience working with and organizing inventory;
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail;
- Strong, practical knowledge of firearms and firearms safety is required. Prior experience handling firearms in a professional, retail, military, or law enforcement setting is highly preferred;
- Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently;
- Ability to work six (6) auction weekends per year.
- Active FOID card status (Illinois residents only).
Physical Requirements
Routinely moving and transporting up to 50 pounds. Traversing and moving for prolonged periods up to 100% of the time with frequent ascending, descending, or positioning self to maintain moving and transporting consignor items. Must be able to constantly communicate and exchange accurate information. Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, perceive and assess auction production operations. Constantly operates and uses computer and other relevant equipment and office machinery. Typically works in climate-controlled environment, but may be exposed to outdoor climate while performing other duties as needed. Constantly works with and around firearms, bladed weaponry, and valuable collectibles.
