Location: Rock Island, Illinois
Paralegal supports the General Counsel and legal team in a regulated environment. You will assist with any litigation as well as provide support for financial transactions.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain well-organized litigation matter files (chronologies, key pleadings, correspondence, deposition materials) and keep litigation calendars current (deadlines, hearings, discovery milestones). Coordinate with outside counsel on deliverables, document exchange, and status updates; help prepare internal matter summaries for the General Counsel and business stakeholders.
Run the eDiscovery workflow; initiate and administer legal holds (custodian identification, notices, acknowledgements, reminders, releases, defensible documentation), coordinate ESI preservation and collections with IT and vendors, manage review logistics with outside counsel, and drive production/quality control (production specs, secure transfers, production logs, chain-of-custody); support privilege-log workflows and discovery tracking artifacts.
Support loan closings end-to-end by maintaining closing checklists, tracking conditions precedent, and coordinating signatures and deliverables among internal teams, borrowers, lenders, and outside counsel.
Draft/compile and manage closing documentation under attorney direction, including as applicable:
Loan/credit documents
UCC/collateral package, including UCC-1 financing statements (plus amendments/terminations as needed), track filing confirmations, and maintain lien evidence
Closing deliverables, including officer/incumbency certificates, organizational documents, good standing certificates, authorizing consents/resolutions, insurance policies
Prepare and maintain electronic closing binders (indexing, version control, signature packets, final PDFs), distribute final executed documents, and update internal repositories/matter management systems. Track post-closing deliverables and covenant/reporting ticklers and escalate issues to the lead attorney and/or General Counsel.
Draft client facing communications for attorney review, including status updates.
Proofread documents with meticulous consideration and keen eye for spelling, grammatical, and formatting errors.
Conduct legal research to support corporate actions and decisions.

Demonstrated capability to run eDiscovery workflows with appropriate documentation rigor.
Experience supporting financial closings (checklists, signature packets, closing binders, deliverable tracking) and comfort coordinating multi-party deal processes.
Knowledge, skill, and ability to manage, organize, and store documents using standard control protocols and following established internal processes and procedures while also maintaining compliance.
Exemplary writing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability and willingness to follow directives from direct supervisor, senior management, or senior legal team members.
Ability to collaborate and communicate (both written and verbal) effectively and professionally.
Ability and willingness to take initiative without prompting within scope and quality standards.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to swiftly pivot and/or multi-task in order to balance competing priorities and successfully meet deadlines.
Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to use and operate office machinery and other relevant equipment, such as telephone, computer, copier, scanner, and various printers.
Reads, writes, speaks, and understands English fluently.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field
Three (3) years’ previous work experience as a paralegal or similar role required.
Proven experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
Salary Requirements:
$65000-$75000
Physical Requirements
Constant sedentary work for prolonged periods up to 100% of the time with occasional moving and transporting up to 25 pounds. Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, perceive, and assess administrative functions. Must be able to constantly communicate and exchange accurate information. Constantly operates and uses telephone, computer, and other relevant equipment and office machinery while performing repetitious movements.
